2.2.3 Strong and other irregular verbs

Most verbs are regular weak verbs, i.e. class I and II weak verbs. Those which are not are either strong verbs or irregular weak verbs. A verb is strong if it belongs historically to one of the classes of irregular verbs in Old Germanic. A verb is irregular if it is irregular from a synchronic point of view.
