Adverbial past participles are fixed phrases. They do not allow of the addition of troch-phrases ( by-phrases) or adverbs, but they do allow of the addition of a bounded time adverb. From the possibility of adding a bounded time adverb it may be concluded that these adverbials involve a process reading. Hence these past participles have not been morphologically converted to adjectives:

1
a. Dêr sit ik earlik sein wat mei
there sit I honest said somewhat with
To be honest, I have reached the stage where I do not know what to do with it
b. *Dêr sit ik earlik troch my sein wat mei
there sit I honest by me said somewhat with
To be honest, I have reached the stage where I do not know what to do with it
c. Dêr sit ik yn twa tellen sein wat mei
there sit I in two seconds said somewhat with
To be honest, that has been on my conscience, put in a nutshell

The impossibility of adding a by-phrase may be due to the idiomatic nature of the examples in question.
