Adjectives can be classified into four groups on the basis of their meaning.

Adjectives can be classified as below:
- set-denoting adjectives, such as loange ‘long’
- relational adjectives, which includes geographical ones, as in dät Romelster Määrked ‘the market of Ramsloh’.
- subjectively evaluating adjectives, as in n heel ferdjuvelden Käärdel ‘a very special man’, where ferdjuveld ‘bedevilled’ came to mean ‘special’ in a positive sense.
