-es
quickinfo

The suffix -es is an allomorph of -s. It may be attached to a few (short) nouns that denote a time period, and only in a construction with a preceding definite article or demonstrative. Examples are de moarnes on that morning, dy jûnes ion that evening, de seldichste fredes that same friday or de sneines dat ik har sjoen haw on the sunday that I saw her. As can be seen, the construction also allows modifiers. This allomorph is mostly found in the eastern part of the language area.
