Schwa restriction
quickinfo

There is an exceptionless principle forbidding that schwa syllables be stressed (that is, they can receive neither primary stress nor secondary stress). This is also confirmed by the Celex (Baayen 1995) database, that lists no instance of a stressed schwa syllable.

Schwa Restriction
A syllable headed by a schwa never receives stress.
