Nominal conversion
quickinfo

Three lexical categories may undergo conversion to a noun: verbs, adjectives and pronouns. This order also reflects the frequency of the patterns. Conversion of verbs to nouns occurs rather easily. In contrast, only two pronouns may be converted. Special attention is called for the gender of the resulting noun, which, depending on features of the input or the output, may be common or neuter. It should be noted that in quite some cases the use of the resulting noun is restricted to certain idiomatic frames.
